Quick Guide to Building Regulations
What Building Works Require Building Regulations?
Building regulations are required for a variety of building projects as they ensure that buildings are safe. Most commonly for households, building regulations are required for loft conversions (fire safety, stairs safety, loft insulation for thermal efficiency), kitchens (fire safety), extensions and garage conversions (thermal efficiency and structural strength).
When Will The Building Inspector Look at my House?
Building Regulation applications are started after the planning application outcome has been issued, but before building work commences. You will be appointed a building inspector, by your local authority Building Control department, who will come to your home at various milestone stages to sign off each stage of your build.
We can produce building regulations specifications and the drawings required for the building inspector to approve your project.
